The Henrico baseball team suffered through a pretty rough season this year. After losing star pitcher Blake Bombere as well as big hitter Jeremiah Page from last year’s team, some of the players stepped in to fill big roles. They put up strong fights in nearly every game; however, many games ended in heartbreak for the Warriors.

Junior outfielder Amir Lawson (pictured) said that “Through the season we battled with injuries and depth issues especially in the outfield and pitching staff. We ended the season with a poor record but we definitely have shown improvement and we’re looking to be a contender in the playoff picture next year.”

From the beginning to the end of the season, the baseball team has improved greatly and they have begun to work better as a team. With few seniors leaving following this season, the baseball team will bring back most of its starters for next year and will look to turn those close losses into wins in a quest for a playoff run.
