With The Warrior Girls Volleyball team has been doing well this season. They’ve had their fair share of ups and downs, which is expected in every sport. Coach Lovick has done a great job with the Warrior volleyball players, as she is a coach who does not expect a win from every match, but just wants her players to have fun and try their best.

“The season has had its ups and downs so far, but we are optimistic and confident about finishing strong” Coach Lovick stated.

Coach Lovick also commented that the “Varsity girls volleyball’s most recent win over Varina should have been a clean sweep, but the Blue Devils were not going down without a fight. In the first game of four, Varina was leading 24-22 when Henrico won the sideout and served the tying point. Varina won back the serve and made it to 25, but they had to win by two. The Lady Warriors and Blue Devils would battle it out until the Devils came out on top 30-28. The Warriors would not take this lying down, and they took the next two games 25-16 and 25-11. With a 2-1 lead in the match, the Warriors went into the fourth game feeling confident, but the scrappy Devils found a new spark. Freshman Zayin Roe would go to the serving line with the Devils leading 21-16. The Warriors kept the serve and caught up to the Devils, and when the score became 24-21, Warriors, Roe put the nail in the coffin with an ace serve.”

While the team’s record is currently 5-10 with a recent loss against Lee Davis High School, the Lady Warrior Volleyball team continues to look forward to the remaining matches.

Senior Deshayla Lewis stated that “The season has been going pretty great! We recently won our game against Varina last Tuesday and we plan to win plenty more. I’m really looking forward to senior night.”

The Varsity Lady Warriors next match is on Tuesday, October 11 at Highland Springs following the J.V. match which starts at 6:00pm.
